30 Photos of Famous Aviator Amelia Earhart from the 1920s-1930s

Amelia Earhart (1897 – 1937) was an American aviation pioneer and author. The ambitious pilot started flying lessons when she was 21 years old.

In 1932, the late Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1937, as she attempted a flight around the globe, she and her navigator, Fred Noonan, vanished over the South Pacific and were never heard from again. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.
